Credit By Exam

Texas Administrative Code §74.24 requires districts to provide a minimum of 4 testing opportunities per calendar year for students to accelerate at no cost to the student.  Students are allowed to take each test only once during the test period. The testing window must be designed to meet the needs of all students.  The dates must be publicized in the community. 
 
The quarterly testing windows designated by TAC §74.24 are
 
  • January 1 - March 31
  • April 1 - June 30
  • July 1 - September 30
  • October 1 - December 31

Refer to your local district policy EHDC for information on testing.  A battery of four (4) exams (Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies) is offered for grades 3 - 5.  Students may earn credit for an academic subject in grades 6 - 12 if the stipulated requirements are met.   Learn about all exams available for all grade levels, including Languages Other Than English, by clicking below:
