What services do Region 7 School Safety Coop members get from the cooperative and add-ons? See info below for current 2025-2026 services.
 
BASIC SERVICES:
  • Provide professional development opportunities through face-to-face, webinars, and online courses for school safety and security.  Training topics include, but are not limited to the following:
    • Emergency Management (including Emergency Operation Plans, Appendices, and Annexes)
    • Safe and Supportive School Program (SSSP) Team Operations
    • Behavioral Threat Assessment (BTA) Process and Procedures
    • Safety and Security Committee Operations
    • School-Based Law Enforcement
    • Standard Response Protocol - Standard Reunification Method
    • Legislative updates
    • Technical Assistance for the Sentinel platform
  • Provide on-site professional development and technical assistance to the district safety and security committee(s).
  • Provide on-site professional development and technical assistance to the Behavior Threat Assessment Team. 
  • Provide on-site and remote technical assistance in reviewing the Emergency Operation Plan before submission to the Texas School Safety Center.
  • Provide professional development on topics such as, but not limited to, Dating Violence, Drug Awareness, Gang Awareness, etc.
  • Provide training to perform the statutorily required 3-year Safety and Security Audit.
  • Provide professional development and technical assistance for school safety grant applications and compliance reports. 
  • Provide support during an emergency situation.
  • Provide support and technical assistance during the DVA process.
 
A.T.P. (Active Threat Preparedness)Training: A.T.P. Training is a research-based, scenario approach to responding to an active threat  situation. This workshop authorizes and empowers those engaged in such an event to utilize existing building infrastructure, technology, and human action to distract and reduce the threat which increases the chance of survival. 
            COST: $500.00 per campus

Complete Safety and Security Audit (External & Internal): This complete safety audit will provide information allowing the district to complete the required report in the Texas School Safety Center’s DARTool system.  It includes facilities audits, culture and climate surveys, and interviews with select district personnel.  The current 3-year window to conduct a safety audit for submission to the Texas School Safety Center ends August 31, 2026.
