What is WriteAlign?
WriteAlign is an innovative, educator-focused, AI-powered, online tool developed by the Digital Learning Department. Designed to meet the growing demands of writing instruction and assessment, WriteAlign streamlines essay scoring, supports data-driven decision-making, and enhances instructional quality across districts.
 
Purpose
WriteAlign helps educators evaluate and strengthen student writing using the official STAAR Extended Constructed Response (ECR) rubric. By combining automated scoring, exemplar responses, and actionable feedback, the platform ensures consistency, accuracy, and alignment with state rubrics.

  • Automated Scoring: Each student response is scored using the official STAAR rubric for reliable, rubric-aligned evaluation. Each submission includes scores for Development and Organization of Ideas, Conventions, and Overall Score.

  • Exemplar Responses: Offers model essays to illustrate expectations and support instructional clarity.

Districts receive 10 scored assessments per enrolled student. For example, with 170 students, you’ll receive 1,700 scored responses to use flexibly across students, grade levels, or checkpoints.
