R7 Employee Spotlight Mindy Mauldin pictureMindy serves as a Health and Safety Specialist in Head Start and has been in education for 17 years.

"I have been a nurse for over 25 years, with 12 of those years serving as a school nurse. I was able to build on my school nurse experience when I joined Head Start in 2019. It is incredibly rewarding to play a small role in empowering families to make informed decisions about their children's healthcare needs. There is nothing quite like seeing a potential educational barrier removed, allowing a child to learn at his/her full potential. When a child who cannot see receives glasses for the first time, or I am able to assist a family with follow-up for a medical problem or dental issue with a provider, I am so humbled. Head Start plays a vital role for families, and I am so blessed that God called me to this program and Region 7."

"As a child, my cousins and I always played school, so I knew at an early age that I wanted to help people. Assisting our districts in learning ASCENDER Student, solving challenges, and helping them feel confident in the system is truly the best part of what I do."

Tetyana is a Performance Management and Data Specialist in Texas Strategic Leadership and has been in education for 33 years.

"My career in education began in 1992 when I started teaching English as a second language at a public school in Lugansk, Ukraine. Since my move to the United States in 1998, I have been grateful for an incredible journey serving Texas communities as a teacher, principal, and leadership coach. The impact of high-quality public education on my own life has deepened my passion for supporting school and district leaders who impact greater school communities. Joining the Region 7 team has increased my leadership capacity and given me the chance to support school systems across East Texas—a privilege I truly appreciate."
