STEP RIGHT UP! The 2026 Youth Leadership Summit is under the big top this year, featuring author, speaker, and educator Brandon Fleming!
Step into a day designed to inspire the leaders of tomorrow. The Youth Leadership Summit brings student leaders together from across the region for a high-energy experience focused on personal growth, leadership, and discovering your strengths. This year’s vintage circus theme reminds students of PT Barnum’s timeless message: “No one ever made a difference by being like everyone else.”
The YLS encourages students to own their voice, recognize their strengths, and understand that leadership looks different for everyone. Whether they’re outgoing, analytical, artistic, or quietly determined, there is power in embracing who they are.
Students will:
- Hear an engaging keynote from Brandon P. Fleming, internationally known speaker and educator.
- Explore their strengths through interactive breakout sessions.
- Learn real-world soft skills to sharpen communication, collaboration, confidence, and professional mindset.
- Connect with community partners and resources designed to help them thrive.
The day includes keynote learning, networking, lunch, hands-on breakouts, and time to explore a resource room highlighting programs and career pathways for young adults.
Arrive between 9:00 - 10:00 AM for check-in. Our keynote, Brandon Fleming, begins at 10:00 AM before lunch. There will also be scheduled visits to our resource room. Students will rotate through afternoon breakouts, including a session with our keynote speaker, which is focused on leadership identity, self-awareness, and workforce readiness.

Brandon P. Fleming is an acclaimed educator, author, and leadership speaker whose story has inspired audiences across the nation. A former at-risk youth turned award-winning Harvard educator, Fleming is known for helping students discover their voice, overcome obstacles, and believe in their capacity to lead and influence change.
Fleming has trained thousands of young people in debate, leadership, and persuasive communication. His work has been featured by major media outlets, and his mission centers on empowering students to rise above circumstance and step boldly into their own potential.
Students will walk away challenged, encouraged, and equipped to see themselves differently — a perfect fit for this year’s “Uniquely You” theme.
