Thank you for your interest in Head Start and Early Head Start. The Region 7 Head Start programs offer educational opportunities and services to families with children aged 0-5 years in 37 school districts in the East Texas area. To participate in one of these Head Start programs, a student must have completed the district enrollment process, as well as the Head Start application process.  Continue reading below for detailed instructions on each step of the application process. 

The online application is intended for use by new families only. 

If you have never applied for or been enrolled in Head Start, please proceed to STEP 1 below.

If you are the parent of any child who has been enrolled in a Head Start program in the past, please complete the contact form so that we may get in touch with you.

You must complete all steps below for your application to be complete and considered for enrollment in the program.

STEP 1 Locate a Head Start program near you.   LOCATIONS	STEP 2 Gather your supporting documents. Birth certificate Proof of income (1040 or W2 from the previous year, SNAP, SSI) Proof of address (utility bill, tax statement, lease agreement) Guardianship papers, if applicable   (See more information below)
STEP 3 Complete the Head Start online pre-application     After completing the Head Start application online, proceed to STEP 4	STEP 4   Submit your supporting documents through the Personal Document Portal   You will receive a link in an email  with instructions.
STEP 5 Complete Head Start Forms by clicking the image below	STEP 6 Complete the registration process  for your local school district.    For a list of districts that allow online registration, please see below.    If your school is not listed, contact the school for more information.   District registration must be completed before an application can be considered for enrollment.
