Brandon Fleming
Brandon P. Fleming is an award-winning educator, entrepreneur, author, and speaker whose story has inspired audiences around the world. Once an at-risk youth and college dropout, he transformed his life to become a Harvard debate coach and the Founder & CEO of the Veritas School of Social Sciences in Atlanta, Georgia.
Fleming’s journey is captured in his bestselling book Miseducated, which is being adapted for television, film, and theater. At just 26, he was recruited to Harvard University as an assistant debate coach, where he founded the Harvard Debate Council Diversity Project — a program that creates opportunities for Black and brown students to attend Harvard’s summer debate residency.
Over seven years, Fleming raised millions of dollars to fund full scholarships for more than 250 students of color. Each cohort he trained went on to win the international debate competition, earning seven consecutive championships. His story has been featured on CNN, Good Morning America, The Steve Harvey Show, and many other national outlets.
Fleming’s work has attracted support from major corporations including Coca-Cola, UPS, and Chick-fil-A. As a speaker, he has delivered keynotes for organizations such as the United Nations and Fortune 100 companies including Walmart, Bank of America, and FedEx.
At 29, Forbes named him to the 30 Under 30 list, and The Root recognized him as one of the Top 100 Most Influential African Americans. In 2021, North Carolina Wesleyan College awarded him an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree.
