The First Time Administrator’s Academy is designed to support new campus leaders as they build confidence, clarity, and capacity throughout their first year. This six-session series provides practical, research-based strategies grounded in the Effective Schools Framework, T-PESS, and the Advanced Educational Leadership Framework.

Participants will strengthen leadership identity, develop systems for daily operations, build a positive campus culture, and refine communication and feedback practices. Each session builds leadership skills that support long-term success while remaining practical and immediately applicable.

Day 1 - Establishing Roles, Responsibilities, and Leadership Identity

This foundational session supports participants in developing clarity around leadership roles, responsibilities, and identity as outlined in the Effective Schools Framework (ESF) Lever 1: Strong School Leadership and Planning and T-PESS Domain 1. Participants examine how clearly defined roles function together within a campus leadership system to support alignment, shared ownership, and intentional decision-making. Through reflective practices grounded in the Advanced Educational Leadership (AEL) Framework, attendees explore how personal leadership tendencies influence daily actions, communication, and campus systems. The session emphasizes role clarity before role complexity, ensuring participants leave with a role-aligned leadership action that strengthens daily operations and establishes a strong foundation for shared instructional leadership.

Day 2 - Managing Daily Operations with Intention

Day 2 of the First-Time Administrator Academy reframes daily operations as essential leadership work aligned to ESF Lever 1 and T-PESS Domain 1, emphasizing how effective planning and monitoring systems support sustainable leadership practice. Participants identify core operational responsibilities and apply prioritization, delegation, and time-management strategies that protect instructional focus. Using principles from the Advanced Educational Leadership Framework, attendees examine how systems, routines, and habits influence leadership effectiveness and consistency. The session reinforces the connection between strong operational systems and the ability to lead with clarity, confidence, and instructional purpose.

Day 3 - Communication, Relationships, and Campus Culture

Day 3 of First Time Administrator's Academy is grounded in ESF Lever 3: Positive School Culture and T-PESS Domain 3, focusing on how leadership communication, visibility, and presence shape campus climate. Participants analyze how leadership behaviors and everyday interactions influence trust, engagement, and consistency across the campus community. Drawing from the Advanced Educational Leadership Framework, attendees reflect on relational leadership practices that strengthen culture and reinforce shared expectations. The session supports participants in identifying a leadership action that intentionally builds culture through communication systems, visibility, and relationship-driven routines.

Day 4 - Feedback that Fuels: Mastering Effective Observation Feedback Cycles

Day 4 of the First-Time Administrator Academy offers participants a hands-on, on-site visit (location TBD) to practice and apply the Get Better Faster Scope and Sequence observation and feedback cycle skills learned on Day 3. This real-world experience will allow administrators to refine their approach to providing effective feedback and enhancing instructional practices within a school setting. Following the site visit, participants will engage in a structured Leadership Panel where they can ask questions and receive insights from experienced instructional leaders.. The panel will provide valuable perspectives on leadership challenges, strategies for success, and practical advice for sustaining growth as an educational leader. This interactive session will empower new administrators to confidently implement the skills and strategies they’ve learned throughout the academy.

Day 5 - Leading Adults Through Growth and Change

First Time Administrator's Academy- Day 5 will equip participants with strategies to support adult learning, growth, and change. Attendees explore coaching practices, feedback structures, and reflective strategies that strengthen professional capacity and implementation of campus initiatives. In alignment with Advanced Educational Leadership framework, participants examine leadership behaviors during growth-oriented and challenging conversations, emphasizing adaptability, self-awareness, and accountability. The session highlights how effective leadership of adults sustains momentum and supports continuous improvement.

Day 6 - Reflection, Sustainability, and Leadership Growth

The culminating session centers on reflective practice and continuous improvement aligned to the Effective Schools Framework and professional growth expectations within T-PESS. Participants reflect on leadership growth across the induction year using evidence from leadership practice and artifacts. Guided by the Advanced Educational Leadership Framework, attendees identify strengths, growth areas, and priorities for continued development beyond the academy. This session reinforces reflection as a leadership habit that sustains effectiveness, clarity, and long-term leadership growth.
