The New CTE Teacher Bootcamp is a four-part series designed to support teachers who are new to Career and Technical Education. Each session provides practical strategies and guidance to help you succeed in the classroom while fulfilling the 20-hour classroom management requirement for Districts of Innovation (DOI) and School District Teaching Permit (SDTP) teachers. Across the series, you’ll explore lesson plan design, research-based instructional practices, classroom management, legal responsibilities, FERPA, student–teacher interactions, differentiation, and strategies for supporting special population students.

Part 1: Creating a Positive Classroom Culture
Kick off your CTE teaching journey with the tools you need to succeed. A strong classroom culture sets the stage for learning. In this first session, we’ll cover the essentials of what classroom management is and what it is not. You’ll walk away with practical strategies to build trust, reduce disruptions, and make your classroom a place where students thrive.

Part 2:  Building Your Foundation 
In our second session of the New CTE Teacher Bootcamp, we will give you the tools and confidence to plan effectively, teach strategically, and align your instruction with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). We'll break down how to build strong lesson plans, unpack the curriculum, and explore proven instructional practices that support student success. Let us help you turn standards into meaningful learning experiences.

Part 3: Educator Ethics and Compliance
In today’s educational landscape, professionalism and ethical conduct are more important than ever. This essential session will provide educators with a clear understanding of ethical expectations and legal responsibilities, focusing on real-world scenarios and current policy standards. Leave this session equipped with the knowledge and tools to uphold the highest standards of conduct—on and off campus.

Part 4: Differentiation in Action
Every student learns differently, and your classroom will reflect that. In this final session, you’ll focus on differentiation of instruction, strategies for meeting the needs of special populations, and ways to tailor your lessons to engage all learners. Learn how to adapt without losing sight of your instructional goals.
