This is February, and love is in the air. So let's reminisce back to the late 90s when the timeless Shania Twain song "You're Still the One" was released. Her enduring ballad explores the strength of a romantic relationship that has weathered the tests of time. It conveys the idea that despite challenges, ups and downs, and the passage of time, the commitment between two individuals remains strong and resilient.
After the last 20 years, the Region 7 Teacher Certification Program has remained committed to our districts and charters in preparing new teacher candidates to make an IMPACT for their community. During this time we have transitioned from fully face-to-face classes to hybrid (both face-to-face and virtual training) to our current virtual program that provides flexibility and convenience while preserving the high standards of quality we have always upheld.
This month, our first cohort of new teacher candidates begins their virtual coursework. These candidates are embracing learning on their own terms by learning anytime, anywhere. Additionally, they are saving time and costs associated with commuting. The financial burden for us has also decreased, allowing us to make the certification more accessible through a reduced cost. This first cohort is enjoying a total program cost of only $3,250.
Our candidates also benefit from collaboration across geographic boards. Participating from all corners of Region 7 and representing diverse backgrounds, they use communication tools, from discussion forums to video conferencing, to unite and share their educational experiences. They are not alone in this journey; we are still providing support systems from day one until they finish the program to ensure they are fully equipped to transform their aspiration of nurturing each student's learning, growth, and success into a reality.
If you want to know more about our teacher certification program, jump over to https://impactetx.esc7.net/, where you can find more information, like our calendars and deadlines. We hope you know someone who wants to join our Spring Cohort. The Spring Application opens on February 9 and closes on April 3.
Please get in touch with me anytime if you have any questions about the certification process.
