Safe & Drug Free Schools & Communities
Welcome to Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities at Region 7. Having a safe and drug-free school is one of our region’s highest priorities. We recognize that without a safe and orderly academic environment, teachers and students cannot thrive.

Region 7 Districts have the opportunity to join the School Safety Co-op which includes:

  • professional development opportunities related to school safety,
  • training that will enable the district team to perform ongoing campus security/safety audits,
  • on-site guidance through the security/safety audit process,
  • technical assistance to the team regarding the performance and documentation of the security/safety audit, including writing the final report,
  • technical assistance with reviewing and updating the emergency operation plan (EOP),
  • attendance at the School Safety Summit at reduced or no fee,
  • online safety surveys and reports,
  • and on-site active shooter response training.

In addition, Region 7 Education Service Center offers a variety of School Safety professional development opportunities to all districts.  A listing of sessions is available by visiting
MIS Web or you may view specifically by the Subject "Safe and Drug Free".  We look forward to working together to provide Region 7 school children and their teachers the benefits of safe and drug-free schools and communities.
