GT Student Seminars
A gifted learner is a child or youth who performs at or shows the potential for performing at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment and who:

  1. exhibits high performance capability in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area;
  2. possesses an unusual capacity for leadership; or
  3. excels in a specific academic field (TEC 29.121) .

The Region 7 G/T staff strives to assist districts in meeting the unique, diverse needs of these gifted learners through Student Seminars. Each of the seminars is designed to offer gifted students an array of appropriately challenging learning experiences that are commensurate with their abilities and opportunities that allow them to accelerate their strengths in a variety of areas. Student Seminars also allow gifted students throughout Region 7 to work with one another, as well as independently.
