Welcome to the Region VII Social Studies web site. This site was created on April 2, 2003, in an attempt to provide timely information and material to social studies teachers within the Region VII Education Service Center area. Because the site is new, it is still under development. Please bear with us as we work out the kinks. At this time, we are more concerned with providing timely information. As the site grows, the organization will change, so expect things to look different from time to time. We welcome any suggestions to improve the site. Our goal is that this site will become a true resource for the classroom teacher.

The Social Studies TAKS Information Booklets have been updated. You can download the updates from TEA, but this is a very large file of 6.5 MB. It is so large because updates to all TAKS Information Booklets (Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) have been combined into a single scanned file. Instead, I have compiled a file of only the Social Studies updates which you can download using the link below.
