We provide a blend of face-to-face and online coursework to our participants. Our face-to-face courses are one Saturday a month (Sept.-May) and up to 12 days in June and/or July. For additional information/dates regarding training face-to-face, please contact us.

To enroll into Region 7 Teacher Certification Program you must pass the content test, meet the GPA requirement of 2.5 overall, have a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education, and pass a criminal history check.  If an applicant does not meet the GPA requirement of 2.5, he or she may also qualify with a GPA of 2.75 in the last 60 hours of coursework provided the applicant has met all other requirements.

I want to commend the Region 7 Teacher Preparation and Certification Program for doing an outstanding job preparing teachers to enter the classroom.  I have not found this to always be the case with all alternative certification programs. I have confidence that a teacher that has completed the Region 7 preparation program will have background knowledge that will help prepare them to serve the general student population and diverse student groups such as GT, ELLs, and SPED students.

Thank you for all you do to prepare future classroom teachers!

I had an opportunity that I didn't take, someone was discussing Alt Certification programs and what I should have said out loud is Region 7's program is amazing .

I have had to work with many (alternative programs) this year in trying to certify my teachers. Regina and Brian are the best. It is organized, efficient, great communication, and leaves no question as to where candidates stand in the process of certification.

I just thought you might want to know what a great job they are doing. I feel blessed to be working with them in Karnack!

Thanks so much,

Amy B. Dickson, Superintendent
Karnack Independent School District

Thank you all so very much for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of the TPCP program.  Your training was top of the line and I learned so very much.  I look forward to every other workshop I will attend throughout my teaching career and I hope I get to see you all there when I go.  Have an amazing day!!

I have really enjoyed my training through Region VII. I cannot imagine any certification program that would have better prepared me for classroom teaching in the real world. Also, I appreciate the support of my field supervisor during my internship. Lesle Williams was a dream and offered useful feedback every single time she observed me.

I am happy to have completed the program at Region VII but will miss having such frequent contact with all of you. I will forever have a fondness in my heart for Region VII ESC.

Thank you for all you have done in making my dream of becoming a classroom teacher a reality. I love teaching and only regret that I waited so long to make this career change.

I appreciate all the TPCP program offered in seeing that I was prepared to be successful in the classroom. I was just selected as Secondary Teacher of the Year for Harleton ISD and it is such a rewarding feeling knowing that I am making a difference in the classroom! Thanks so much!
