| The
Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities program
supports comprehensive (EE-12) drug use prevention
and violence prevention programs that: |
>>
prevent violence in and around schools;
>> prevent the illegal use of alcohol, tobacco,
and drugs;
>> involve parents and communities; and
>> coordinate with related federal, state, and
community efforts and resources to promote safe and
drug-free schools and >>.communities as required
by the Principles of Effectiveness. |
| Intended
Program Beneficiaries: All students, staff, parents,
and relevant community groups. The SDFSSSA assists
its members with activities and programs such as: |

Parent education/involvement
>> After-school activities
>> Community service projects
>> Youth leadership training
>> Teacher/staff training
>> Students instruction in drug use prevention
and violence prevention
>> Bullying prevention
>> School safety procedures and training
>> Peer mediation and conflict resolution
>> Character Counts
>> P.A.P.A. Curriculum
